Jared Leto Rocks Met Gala 2023 with Viral Cat Costume
The highly anticipated Met Gala 2023, a fundraising event for the Costume Institute and the most prominent fashion celebration, was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (1/5).
The event featured a predetermined dress code, “In Honor of Karl,” lifted from the exhibition theme Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which is open to the public from 5 May-16 July 2023.
Celebrities from around the world graced the red carpet in clothes that embodied the late German designer’s style. From black and white colors to design elements Lagerfeld created, the clothes on display were a testament to his legacy.
However, among the luxurious and glamorous outfits, one celebrity stood out with an eccentric costume. Jared Leto, the 51-year-old star of the upcoming film Morbius, arrived at the Met Gala dressed in a giant version of his pet cat Choupette’s Birman costume.
The outfit featured white fur and a pair of blue eyes that added a touch of humor to the event.

As the public watched in awe, Leto opened the costume’s head, revealing himself to be the person behind the viral cat outfit.
His striking eye makeup, including thick eyeliner and silver glitter, added to the ensemble’s eccentricity and captured the attention of everyone present.
Leto is known for his iconic and quirky costumes at every Met Gala appearance. At the 2022 Met Gala, he appeared in head-to-toe Gucci dress alongside designer Alessandro Michele, embracing the Gilded Glamor dress code.
In 2019, he donned an eccentric red dress with rhinestone accents and carried a replica of his own head on the pink carpet, fitting the Camp: Notes on Fashion theme.
