Google Unveils First Foldable Android Phone: Pixel Fold Set to Launch in June 2023
Google has finally confirmed the rumors surrounding its first foldable Android phone, the Pixel Fold. The company shared a teaser video on its Twitter account, @madebygoogle, with the caption “May The Fold Be With You,”
revealing a glimpse of the highly anticipated device. The Pixel Fold is expected to be announced at the upcoming Google I/O event on May 10, 2023, with sales set to begin on June 27, 2023.

Design and Features
The Pixel Fold looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and features a second screen and camera on the back of the smartphone body when closed. Google has also maintained a rear camera accent similar to its Pixel devices on the market.
However, the company has not revealed any further details about the phone’s design.

Display
The Pixel Fold will feature a secondary screen with a 5.8-inch AMOLED panel, FHD+ resolution, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The main screen, on the other hand, will have a size of 7.6 inches and support a refresh rate of 120Hz as well.
The phone will be equipped with an AMOLED display,making it a great option for those who love to watch high-quality videos on their phones.
Performance
The Google Pixel Fold is expected to be powered by the Google Tensor 2 chipset and come with 12GB of RAM, with the option of 256GB or 512GB of internal memory.
The phone will run on Android 13 and is expected to have a 4,500mAh capacity battery that Google claims will last all day.
Camera
For photography enthusiasts, the Pixel Fold will feature a 48MP main lens, a 10.8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens on the rear camera. The camera on the inner screen and secondary screen will have an 8MP resolution.
