Nokia G22 Launches with Revolutionary Reparability Feature, Replace Battery and Screen in 20 Minutes
HMD Global, the Nokia smartphone licensee, has recently introduced its latest mobile phone the Nokia G22. What sets this smartphone apart from others is its reparability and sustainability feature.
The reparability feature allows users to fix the device if it gets damaged, especially for the Nokia G22. The improvements that can be made include replacing the battery, screen, cellphone shell, and charging plug.
According to HMD Global, most smartphone damage occurs to the device’s screen and battery, and with this reparability feature, consumers can have a smartphone that lasts for a long time. To make this possible, HMD Global has partnered with iFixit, a community that enjoys taking apart and repairing various gadgets. iFixit will provide the necessary guides, tools, and components needed to repair the Nokia G22.

This innovative feature was introduced by HMD Global to simplify complicated repair steps, such as heating the phone shell to open it or using alcohol to remove the battery. With the Nokia G22, the process of repairing your smartphone is now hassle-free.
Nokia G22 Specifications
The Nokia G22 is made using 100 percent recycled plastic, and its packaging box also uses recycled materials certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), in line with the brand’s environmentally friendly concept. It features a 6.53-inch screen with HD Plus resolution (720 x 1,200 pixels), a 90 Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness level, covered with protective glass from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The smartphone’s front screen has a waterdrop-like notch that accommodates an 8 MP resolution front camera, while the rear camera configuration consists of a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. In terms of processing power, the Nokia G22 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, expandable up to 2 TB via the microSD slot.
The Nokia G22 boasts a 5,050mAh battery capacity, with 20 watts of charging, and can be charged via the USB-C plug. The battery is claimed to last up to three days. Additionally, the device runs on the Android 12 operating system, and HMD Global will provide two years of OS updates and three years of device security updates, which means that it’s highly likely that the Nokia G22 will get an update to Android 14.
Other supporting features include face unlock, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated with the power button, 4G network, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11, and GPS.

The Nokia G22 is priced at 179 euros. The color options offered are Blue and Gray, and the device has been introduced in the European region.
